A Craftsman Style Bungalow Plan

with all the bedrooms on the upper level. This traditional style allows more living space on the lower level in a smaller overall footprint. The full width front porch and triple stone / wood columns nested under a steep gable roof give this plan its curb appeal. Whether in an urban or rural setting, 2736 looks good. The front door opens to a corner Foyer that is separated from the main living areas by a craftsman style staircase and landing. The ceiling of the Foyer lifts, and upper level wall sconces provide indirect lighting. To the right is a short hall that accesses a private office and powder room. At the hall entrance, a custom stain glass transom forms a header decoration, and is illuminated from behind by the hall ceiling light. Just beyond, find a custom built phone and mail station with drop down writing table.  Straight ahead is the dining area, defined by an octagonal ceiling coffer. Centered in the dining room is a large stacked stone column double fire fireplace. Beyond the dining room, and accessed from right or left, is the brightly lit living room with a media center located in the North East Corner.  Adjoining and open to the dining area is the country style kitchen. A double window over the kitchen sink opens views to the back yard, and a big work island sits in the center. Custom benches and a booth type table are slipped into a nook on the East wall, with a pendant drop light finishes off the affect. A screen porch opens immediately off the kitchen, extending dining options to the outdoors during warmer months. A walk in pantry provides extra storage. The utility / laundry room doubles up as a mud room, and opens to a covered walkway leading to the free standing garage. An exterior stairway covered by a long roof overhang on the back of the garage leads up to a private studio / bonus space. This area might also become an efficiency apartment in the future. The second story holds all the bedrooms. A cozy master features a walk in closet, and gracious master bath on the East end. There are two small secondary bedrooms, and a sizeable forth at the West end. Omit the wall separating bedrooms 2 and three for a larger space.Don't hesitate to ask about customization possibilities. Once again, the Craftsman style house plan finds a way to turn green.
